[origin: EP1430966A2] Production of a workpiece (4) made of a metallic material, especially aluminum, with adjacently arranged shapings (8), especially a control arm connection with a double-walled dome for motor vehicles, using an internal high pressure metal forming process comprises loading a tubular blank in a forming tool with a medium under high pressure. The double-walled dome is shaped by moving a central profile stamp (10a) against the blank orthogonally to its main axis in the forming region and moving profile stamps (10b, 10c) on both sides of the central profile stamp against the blank at a specified angle of attack and a specified distance to produce the two dome walls. An Independent claim is also included for a forming press for carrying out the above process.
