[origin: EP1430968A1] Forming tool for producing a shaped end of a pipe (1) comprises at least two clamping jaws (4) for fixing the pipe to its outer casing surface and an upsetting body (3) which has a base (7) molded so that a free space (11) is formed when the base is in contact with front surface (5) of the pipe but before there is deformation between the front surface and the base. An Independent claim is also included for the production of a shaped end of a pipe. Preferred Features: The inner diameter of a collar (13) of the pipe continuously increases in a direction away from the base. The inner casing surface of the collar is conically formed in a region next to the base. The clamping jaws have a section facing away from the upsetting body.
