Abstract (en)

A data communications device comprises a locator unit of the satellite type (GPS), a transceiver that operates in the mobile-telephone frequency range (GSM,GPRS,UMTS), a short-range communications device for communication with local detectors (4), and a display for displaying information received over one or more of the receivers; by integrating these electronic components it is possible to receive selectively information sent by a service center (50) that is specific for each individual user and is selected according to the position currently occupied by the vehicle within the road network managed by an operator. <IMAGE>
