[origin: WO03031184A1] The invention relates to an inking unit of a printing machine comprising at least one inking roller whose lateral surface rests against the lateral surface of a form cylinder, and comprising at least one ink delivery device that is provided, in particular, with an ink ductor with which the printing ink can be transferred out of a reservoir. The inking unit also comprises at least one intermediate roller (16; 17; 18; 19) with which the printing ink coming from the delivery device can be delivered in the direction of the inking roller (21). To this end, at least one intermediate roller and/or the inking roller are/is shorter than at least one intermediate roller that is mounted in front with regard to the direction in which the printing ink is delivered.
