Abstract (en)
[origin: WO03011654A1] The invention relates to an airbag for vehicles for protecting passengers in accidents, which is produced from water-jet reinforced spun non-woven fabric. High-strength synthetic filaments are used for producing the non-woven fabric. Filaments such as polymer fibres made of polypropylene, polyester or polyamide obtained with the of dry-spinning or melt spinning methods can be used. The non-woven fabric can be used with an additional plastic coating in order to reduce air permeability.
