Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03029548A1] For the wet treatment of articles to be cleaned, in particular in a program-controlled front-loading washing machine, having a function for manually stopping a currently running control program as well as safety devices for preventing the manual opening of the access door or trap to the washing tank, provided that at least one safety criterion requires the user protection, a function is desired, by means of which the currently running program can be stopped and access to the household appliance is permitted. According to the present invention, the desired function is achieved, whereby, on actuating the stop function at least one time, a test routine for testing the safety criterion or criteria is triggered and the access door or trap is released for the opening thereof, provided that the safety criteria no more require the user protection.
