Abstract (en)
[origin: WO03033079A1] The invention relates to an installation for fire-fighting in a tunnel, especially a road tunnel (1). Said installation comprises nozzle ducts (4) which extend along the tunnel roof (2), are divided into longitudinal sections (3), and are connected to nozzles (5, 6) for forming a spray, or receive such nozzles (5, 6). Said nozzle ducts are respectively connected, in sections, and by means of a valve (7), to a pressure line (8) for an extinguishing liquid. Said installation also comprises a control device (10) for the valves (7) between the pressure line (8) and the nozzle duct (4), said control device being connected to a device (11) for localising the source of fire. In order to create advantageous extinguishing conditions, auxiliary nozzles (6) are provided in addition to the main nozzles (5) which are oriented towards a region of the tunnel (1) floor, said auxiliary nozzles having a smaller diameter than the main nozzles (5) and being used to produce a spray in an upper region of the tunnel outside the spray region (19) of the main nozzles (5).
