[origin: GB2380948A] A football training apparatus comprises a chassis 10 on which are mounted a plurality of contact members 3 which partially surround the player, each contact member 3 having a visual indicator (4 figure 1) operable by the user in a pre set or random manner, a rocker arm 22 and a switch means 36 to deactivate or activate the visual means (4 figure 1) when the contact member 3 has been kicked by the player and a control means (50 figure 1) able to detect when a visual indicator has been deactivated and able to activate the next visual member (4 figure 1) in the sequence. Each contact member 3 being attached to a rocker arm 22 which is pivotly mounted on the chassis 10 and may have an optical sensor 36 at its distal end. When a contact member 3 is kicked by a user, movement of the rocker arm 22 is detected by the sensor 36 to deactivate the visual indicator (4 figure 1). Each contact member 3 may comprise a realisably attachable module 5 with cooperating means (17,18 figure 3) at its ends to attach to an adjacent module 5. The control means (50 figure 1) may comprise of a computer processor, memory and an interface. Also included is a computer program for use with the football training apparatus.
