Abstract (en)
[origin: DE10149649A1] The production of a current from a carbon-containing material, especially biomass, comprises allothermally gasifying the material in a reactor (1) producing a fluidized layer (5); cooling the gas produced after passing through a cyclone in successive stages; removing pollutants from the gas by condensation; and removing further pollutants using a chemical method. Preferred Features: The waste gases from combustion engines and/or burners are used to thermo-chemically digest the materials to be gasified, to heat and/or dry the materials to be gasified or to heat the combustion air of the gases or a post-combustion boiler. The waste gases are passed through a waste heat boiler to produce steam. A condensation steam turbine (9) is driven by the waste heat boiler.
