[origin: DE10149514A1] The fuel injector (1) has an injector body (2) containing a valve needle (5) and an injector nozzle body (4) attached to the injector body via a retaining nut (9) screwed onto a thread (8) of the injector body. A deformable compensation element (30) acts between the abutting surfaces of the components coupled together by the retaining nut, for compensating skew caused by manufacturing tolerances. An Independent claim for use of a deformable compensation element for a multi-component fuel injector is also included.
