Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03031228A2] The invention concerns a device for detecting objects designed for a driving aid system in motor vehicles. The inventive object detecting device comprises at least two sensor systems (13; 14; 16L, 16R) which measure data (d1, j1; d2, j2; d3, y3) concerning the location or the displacement state of the objects (24) in the neighbourhood of the vehicle (10) and whereof the detection zones (18, 20) are mutually overlapping. The inventive object detecting device is characterized in that it comprises an error detection device which controls the coherence of the data measured by the sensor systems(12; 14; 16L, 16R) and emits an error signal when it identifies an incoherence.
