Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1437396A1] A lubricating oil comprises a mineral and/or synthetic base oil containing: (a) ash-free succinimide dispersant; (b) metallic detergent; (c) zinc (sec-alkyl)dithiophosphate; and (d) ash-free phosphorus compound as antiwear agent. The content of sulfated ashes derived from metal elements in the composition is 0.3-1.0 wt.%. A lubricating oil comprises a mineral and/or synthetic base oil containing (wt.%): (a) 0.08-0.40 % (based on nitrogen content) ash-free succinimide dispersant; (b) 0.06-0.22 % (based on metal content) metallic detergent; (c) 0.04-0.08 % (based on phosphorus content) zinc (sec-alkyl)dithiophosphate; and (d) 0.01-0.04 % (based on phosphorus content) ash-free phosphorus compound as antiwear agent. The content of sulfated ashes derived from metal elements in the composition is 0.3-1.0 wt.%.
