Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1437462A2] The profiled key (1) has a shaft (3) which fits in a matching slot in the cylinder (2a) of a security lock (2). The shaft of the key may be made in one piece or in two interlocking pieces. It engages with main (9) and auxiliary (12) plungers in the lock cylinder. The cylinder may rotate in the housing (2b) when the key is inserted, pushing the ends of the plungers to the correct position. The outer ends of the plungers engage with spring-loaded (11,14) housing plungers (10,13).
