[origin: EP1437547A2] The steam generator (11) has an electric heater (16) covered with water (15). There is a low-level sensor (31) and a high-level sensor (32). There is a control valve (23) in the cold water inlet (22) at the top of the chamber (13). There is a steam outlet (20) at the top of the chamber and a water overflow outlet (25) at the bottom of the chamber. The pipe leading from the water overflow outlet forms an S-bend siphon (27) with two 180 degree bends (28,29) and an outlet (30) below the bottom of the water chamber.
