[origin: GB2381220A] A gas treatment apparatus (1) for treating an exhaust gas stream from an internal combustion engine. The apparatus comprises of several compartments (2,4) within which treatments are to be performed on a gas stream passing through. The apparatus includes a central compartment (2) having a central axis for gas flow in one direction and an annular compartment (4) for gas flow in an opposite direction. The annular compartment substantially surrounds the central compartment in a generally concentric arrangement. The inlet (10) and outlet (16) from the apparatus are both radially directed and are characterised in that the inlet and outlet overlap (20) axially.
