[origin: EP1438993A1] The ski boot binding (11) has a leading section (13) with a pad (113) to grip over the toe of the boot, and a trailing section (15) with a rear pad (41) to grip the heel of the boot. The trailing section for the heel is on a slide (23), which rides on a guide (21) on the longitudinal line (25) of the binding against a spring, which allows the gap between the heel and toe sections to be increased if there is a twisting force on the boot. A swing unit (39) at the heel section can pivot around a lateral axis (67) against a second spring, to give a release action in the event of a forward fall.
