[origin: EP1439142A2] The web connecting process involves connecting the front end (40) of the second web (18) by an adhesive strip (52) to the fixing surface (56). To connect the second web to the first, the fixing surface is placed in a release position (56) facing the first web (14), so that the adhesive strip is wrapped round at the end of the second web. The projecting sector (54) of the adhesive strip is than stuck to the first web.
