[origin: EP1439238A1] Use of a brass alloy for corrosion resistant drinking water molded parts is new. The alloy contains (in wt.%) 63.1-63.9 Cu, 0.5-1.1 Pb, 0.01-0.06 Fe, 0.01-0.1 Mn, 0.01-0.1 Ni, 0.001-0.02 Si, 0.001-0.005 Cr, 0.001-0.05 Al, 0.006-0.08 As, 0.005-0.08 Bi, 0.001-0.005 P, 0.001-0.05 Sb, 0.001-0.005 S, 0.001-0.01 Te, 0.001-0.02 Cd, 0.001-0.02 Se, 0.001-0.02 Ag, 0.05-0.3 Sn, 0-0.1 Be, B, Co, Mg, Ti and Zr, and a balance of Zn.
