[origin: WO03038272A1] The invention relates to a fuel injection valve (1) for injecting fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. Said valve comprises a valve needle (4) which is guided in a nozzle body (3), can be controlled by an actuator (7), and is acted upon by a return spring (9) in such a way that a valve closing body (5) which is co-operatively connected to the valve needle (4) rests against a valve seat surface (6) in a sealing manner. A projection (14) is formed on a downstream-side end (13) of the fuel injection valve (1), projecting past the valve closing body (5) of the fuel injection valve (1).
