[origin: US2005150408A1] The invention concerns a digital printing machine for direct non-contact sheet printing with a digital printing mechanism with free format in the peripheral direction, and a sheet transport system which is connected downstream of the digital printing mechanism, wherein the sheet transport system has grippers at its periphery holding the sheet. Counterimpression cylinders can be integrated between the sections of transport belts for conventional printing.
