[origin: EP1440651A2] The central vacuum cleaner (1) with a blower (3) to produce an airflow. The housing has a dirt discharge chamber (7). The air enters the housing and is subjected to a swirling action which increases its speed so that dirt particles are ejected by centrifugal force and drop into the floor of the chamber. The dirt discharge chamber has a soil bag (9) to receive the particles.
