[origin: WO03039398A2] A prosthesis shaft with an opening at the distal end is provided with a seal, arranged such that a suction force on the prosthesis shaft gives rise to a servo force on the seal, whereby the external atmospheric pressure increasingly reinforces the seal at the sealing lips with compression. The seal can be fixed to the prosthesis shaft and/or the liner whereby the sealing edge of the opening to be sealed is radially approached more closely than the base of the sealing lip.
