Abstract (en)
[origin: WO03040073A1] The invention relates to alk(en)ylglycerinether carboxylic acids, obtained by reacting mono- and/or dialk(en)ylglyceric ether and the additional products with ethylene- and/or propylene oxide of formula(I): R<1>O(A)nCH2CH[(A)mOR<2>]CH2(A)pOH, wherein R<1> and R<2> independently represent H or a linear and/or branched alkyl- and/or alkenyl group having 4 - 22 carbon atoms, but at least one of the radicals R<1> and R<2> represents a linear and/or branched alkyl- and/or alkenyl group having 4 - 22 carbon atoms, A represents a C2H4O- and/or C3H6O group and n, m and p independently represent 0 or 0.5 10, with alpha -halogenic carboxylic acids of formula (II): XCR<3>R<4>COOH, wherein R<3> represents H or a CH3-group, R<4> represents H or a linear and/or branched alkyl and/or alkenyl group having1 - 6 carbon atoms and X represents halogen, in the presence of alkali.
