[origin: EP1442851A1] The back pressure plate (4), made from aluminum, has a hard anodized surface layer (10) having sufficient thickness and hardness, with grooves (9) formed at predetermined portions of the plate. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a technique for fabrication of a back pressure plate; (b) a printing machine; and (c) a technique for punching grooves on a substrate.
