[origin: EP1443006A1] The procedure for the separating and ventilating of especially paper sheet material piles (1) entails a positional shifting in relation to each other of the individual sheets of a layer (5), and then carrying out ventilating in such a way that the layer guided, or guided and fixed at a predetermined angle on at least one side, is transported through a passage (7) formed by at least one upper section (10) and lower section (11) of a roller-form gripper, and then laid down at a predetermined angle. An independent claim is included for a device for the separating and ventilating of especially paper sheet material piles.
