Insulation of electrical connections of at least two flat conductor cables (2, 3) consisting at least of electrical strip conductors and insulating material comprises a matrix (1) formed by local removal of the insulating material and joining together of the free strip conductors of different flat conductor cables. The matrix is insulated with an insulating material (sealing material) consisting of a similar, preferably the same material as the insulating material of the two flat conductor cables. Independent claims are also included for: (1) Processes for producing the above insulation; (2) Mold for carrying out the above processes; and (3) Sealing materials for use in the above processes.

Die Erfindung betrifft die Isolierung der elektrischen Verbindungen zumindest zweier Flachleiterkabel (FFC), die zumindest aus elektrischen Leiterbahnen und Isoliermaterial bestehen, wobei das Isoliermaterial lokal entfernt und die freiliegenden Leiterbahnen unterschiedlicher FFC miteinander verbunden sind, einer sogenannten Matrix. Die Erfindung ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Matrix mit einem Isoliermaterial, Versiegelungswcrkstoff genannt, isoliert wird, das aus ähnlichem, bevorzugt aus dem gleichen Material besteht, wie der Isolierwerkstoff der FFC. In einer ersten Variante wird der Versiegelungswerkstoff flüssig in einer Form (5, 6) auf die Matrix (1) aufgebracht und ausgehärtet, in einer zweiten Variante liegt der Versiegelungswerkstoff in Folienform vor und wird in einer Form (15, 16) mit dem Isolationswerkstoff der FFC verschweißt. <IMAGE>
