[origin: EP1445361A2] A sample warper has a stationary drum (1) with a number of axial transport belts (2) on which bands of yarns (12) from a rotary creel (7) are laid by rotating yarn guides (13). The yarns are wound under or over separating rods (4, 5, 6) so that a full width warp is obtained by cutting the appropriate yarns. The transport belts are advanced at constant speed and the variations required to compensate for the width of the band are provided by movement of the yarn guides (13). An independent claim is also included for a sample warping machine fitted with rotary yarn guides (13) that can also perform an axial movement to change the point where the yarn is deposited, e.g. by +- 10 mm, by a movement of the extension arms (11). The positions of the separating rods (4, 5, 6) can be controlled axially. The movements are synchronized by a central controller.
