Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03040634A1] The invention relates to an air distillation method that employs at least two dual distillation columns (6A, 6B) and at least two argon columns (14A, 14B) which operate in parallel in order to distil air by forming at least two argon-enriched fluids (Ar/N/O). The argon-enriched fluids are mixed downstream from the argon columns and are subsequently compressed in a common compressor (42). The compressed fluids are then made to react in a common deoxygenation unit (46) in order to deoxygenate said fluids, thereby producing water. The fluids are then passed into at least one common drying unit (50). The deoxygenated and dried fluids are distilled in at least one denitrogenation column (18A, 18B) in order to form argon and a second nitrogen-enriched fluid.
