Abstract (en)
[origin: WO03042618A1] The present invention concerns a method and an arrangement for use in an electrolysis cell system, comprising a hall with electrolysis cells (C) that use anodes of the pre-bake type for the production of aluminium. The invention comprises temporary storage of consumed anodes and other material that are removed from the cells in closable storage arrangements (A, B) arranged in the hall. The storage arrangements can be connected to an extraction system. Furthermore, during use, the storage arrangements (A, B) are placed at a distance from the cells (C) so that the operations performed on the cells are not obstructed by the storage arrangements. The storage arrangements (A, B) are also designed to be connected to an extraction system (4, 5) placed at a distance from the cells. The storage arrangements are specially designed with means to reduce emissions of gas to the surroundings and to enhance the efficiency of the cooling process. They are also designed to be transported by a vehicle (42).
