Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03044446A1] The invention relates to a method and a device for disposing of materials containing high-energy substances, especially garnets. Said materials are mixed with a bulk material in a pressure-proof housing (2), forming a fluidised bed (16). A reaction of the high-energy substances is triggered under controlled conditions in the inner chamber of the fluidised bed, at a defined distance from the uppermost surface area of said fluidised bed (16). The bulk material leaving the fluidised bed (16) is at least partially redirected into the admission region of the same (16) in a non-cooled state, but to a different admission point to that of the materials to be disposed of. In this way, the energy requirement for the continuous operation of the device or for carrying out the method is kept to a minimum.
