[origin: EP1447360A1] In a papermaking factory a large roll of paper is transported between winding and unwinding stations on a rail (5) mounted rolling (3, 4) chassis (2). The large paper roll rests on a spindle (7) supported at each end in a cradle (6, 7). The chassis (2) incorporates a chassis-turning device (9) that rotates the chassis on the rails with respect to a vertical axis (16). The chassis-turning device (9) incorporates a jack resting on a pressure plate which raises the chassis from the rails (5). The plate spans the full width of track between the wheels.
