[origin: WO0248014A1] A device for separating the useful units of a printed sheet and for cutting out faulty useful units comprises a first cutting device (6, 7, 8) for cutting the sheet, which is printed with a number of useful units, into a plurality of longitudinal strips, each comprising several useful units, a quality control device (2, 3, 4) for detecting faulty useful units and a second cutting device for cutting the strips into individual useful units. A filtering device (26, 27, 28) is provided between the two cutting devices for filtering out the strips with at least one faulty unit. Faultless strips can be introduced to replace the strips that are removed, at the point where they are removed, using an introduction device (29, 31, 32, 33, 34), which simplifies the subsequent processing of the strips.
