The fork lift truck operating process involves forcibly setting the angle (32) of the lifting mast (14) by means of a first angle drive, and the angle (34) of the forks (28) by a second angle drive, measuring these relative to the vertical and horizontal respectively, so that the movement of the forks in space is in the direction of the measured angle when the mast drive moves them up or down (20).

Verfahren zum Betrieb eines Schubmaststaplers mit einem Schubmast (14), der mittels eines Mastantriebs auf eine aufzunehmende Last zu und von dieser fort auf einer horizontalen Führung verschiebbar (30) ist, einem Lastaufnahmemittel (28), das am Schubmast höhenverstellbar (20) gelagert und mit Hilfe eines Heben- und Senkenantriebs betätigbar ist, wobei die Neigung (32) des Schubmastes mittels eines ersten Neigungsantriebs und/oder die Neigung (34) des Lastaufnahmemittels mittels eines zweiten Neigungsantriebs willkürlich einstellbar ist, wobei die eingestellte Neigung (32;34) des Mastes (14) zur Vertikalen oder des Lastaufnahmemittels (28) zur Horizontalen gemessen wird und die Geschwindigkeit des Vorschubs (30) des Schubmastes und der Hub- bzw. Senkbewegung (20) des Lastaufnahmemittels nach Maßgabe des gemessenen Neigungswinkels (32;34) so aufeinander abgestimmt werden, dass das Lastaufnahmemittel (28) im Raum in Richtung der gemessenen Neigung bewegt wird, wenn der Vorschub des Mastes in Gang gesetzt wird. <IMAGE>
