[origin: EP1447467A2] An assembly processes a length of textile ribbon (3) as it moves between rollers (2) whose axial position is transversely variable (8) as required within the treatment housing (1). The assembly processes the ribbon or belt by e.g. the application of steam, dye, finishing, washing or similar. The belt or ribbon moves between two rollers while it is exposed to the process. As an alternative to repositioning the rollers by sliding (8), the rollers may remain fixed and the housing slides with respect to the rollers.
