[origin: WO03045291A1] The invention relates to a device for removing surface material, especially a device for removing human or animal tissue, comprising at least one laser device consisting of at least one laser light source (12) and at least one deviation mirror (14) for deviating at least one part of the laser beam (16) produced and emitted by the laser light source (12) in the direction of the surface material (22) to be removed. Said deviation mirror (14) consists of a plurality of individual mirrors (20) and the position of each individual mirror (20) can be regulated and controlled individually. The invention also relates to a method for removing surface material, especially a method for removing human or animal tissue, comprising the following steps: (a) a laser beam (16) is produced by means of a laser light source (12); (b) at least one part of the laser beam (16) produced and emitted by the laser light source (12) is deviated in the direction of the surface material (22) to be removed, by means of at least one deviation mirror (14), said deviation mirror (14) consisting of a plurality of individual mirrors (20) and the position of each individual mirror (20) being able to be regulated and controlled individually; and (c) surface material (22) is removed according to a pre-determined exposure and removal pattern resulting from the position of the individual mirrors (20) of the entire deviation mirror (14) or part of the same.
