[origin: WO03041885A1] The invention concerns a method and a device for stabilizing high-speed unwinding along a longitudinal direction, of a strip (4) applied on a rotating surface (3) and along which part of the ambient air forms a boundary layer (43) driven with the strip (4). The invention is characterized in that it consists in placing in the dihedral (G) between the strip (4) and the rotating surface (3), a deflecting member (5) whereof the surface (50) facing the strip is inclined relative thereto and is provided with at least an orifice (55) emerging in the internal space (51) arranged inside the deflecting member (5) and connected to an external zone, said inclined surface (50), forming with the inner surface (41) of the strip (4), a convergent (C1) wherein the pressure increases relative to the pressure in the internal space (51), the pressure differential determining evacuation of a certain air flow through the orifice (55) and the break in the remaining part of the air mass driven in the boundary layer (43).
