Abstract (en)

[origin: DE10158995C1] The aim of the invention is to achieve a rigid connection joint of sections (1, 2) consisting of sheet steel, in particular a framework structure of motor vehicle bodywork with a lightweight construction. To achieve this, one of the sections (2), consisting of two parallel strips (2a, 2b) and at least one connecting strut (2c, 2d) engages with the other section (1) comprising two parallel wall sections (1a, 1b), by means of its two ends (2a*, 2b*) that project beyond the strut (2c, 2d), whereby the strip ends (2a*, 2b*) that lie flat against the wall sections (1a, 1b) are connected in a fixed manner, e.g. by a weld joint (4a, 4b, 4c). A connection joint of this type provides multiple tolerance compensation and lends the framework structure a high degree of rigidity.
