[origin: WO03037731A1] An auto-opening pouring device for a container comprises a reclosable closure 2 formed with a cam surface 8, and a spout fitment 60 comprising a tubular section 24, a pivotable opening element 62 comprising a cam follower 32 and a piercing portion 64. The pivotable opening element 62 is attached to the tubular section 24 by a hinge 66 and the piercing portion 64 is disposed radially from the pivot axis of the hinge 66, the arrangement being such that in use the piercing port 64 of the opening element 62 is initially disposed adjacent a weakened region of a container and the hinge 66 is distant from the weakened region, and as the closure is unscrewed the piercing portion 64 is pivoted about the hinge 66 and breaks through the weakened region.
