Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1449772A1] The assembly (10) to wrap a product roll (13,14), with a stretch plastics film, wraps the two end surfaces (33,34) and a mantle surface (32) of the roll. The film is unwound from a film head (12), with spatial movements on a robot arm carrier (11) through an automated and computer-assisted positioning system. The swing axis of the carrier is on a straight line at right angles to the roll center axis at the center point of the roll, independent of the product roll dimensions. The film head has a unit to establish the size and position of the product roll.
