The printing plate recording device has an exposure drum (1) for reception of the printing plate (3), an exposure head, for provision of an exposure beam, displaced axially relative to the exposure drum and a sensor device (40) with a pivoted sensor finger (41), fitted in a groove (16) in the surface of the exposure drum, a cooperating microswitch (44) providing a signal upon contacting the printing plate edge. An independent claim for a method for detecting the edge of a printing plate in a printing plate recording device is also included.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung und ein Verfahren zur Erkennung der Kante eines Aufzeichnungsmaterials, insbesondere einer Druckplatte (3), in einem Belichter zur Aufzeichnung von Druckvorlagen. Ein Belichter hat eine Belichtungstrommel (1) zur Aufnahme der Druckplatte (3), und einen Belichtungskopf (11), der axial an der Belichtungstrommel (1) entlang bewegt wird und Belichtungsstrahlen (12) auf die Druckplatte (3) fokussiert. Mit einer Tasteinrichtung (30; 40; 50; 60) wird die Lage der Druckplattenkante bestimmt. Dazu wird ein Tastfinger (31 ) in eine Nut (16) in der Oberfläche der Belichtungstrommel (1) eingeschwenkt und mit einem Sensor wird ein Signal erzeugt, wenn der Tastfinger (31) sich bei der Berührung der Kante des Aufzeichnungsmaterials bewegt. Als Sensor wird bevorzugt ein Mikroschalter (44) verwendet. Die axiale Position der Kante der Druckplatte (3) wird durch Zählen der Takte des Vorschubantriebs (14) bestimmt, der die Tasteinrichtung (30; 40; 50; 60) bewegt. <IMAGE>
