[origin: GB2362766A] A telecommunications connector for a distribution point comprises a base part 200 and a configuration module 202. The base part has connections to an exchange, a further distribution point and a consumer. The configuration module either connects the exchange through to the next distribution point (see Fig 3), or it connects the consumer to the exchange and cuts off the distribution point (see Fig 4), cutting down on echoing. The configuration module may be a connector which can be connected in different orientations, or it may be a sliding or rotary switch (130, Fig 5) or a relay. It may contain a surge suppressor (222, Fig 8).
