[origin: EP1452673A2] A method for profiling a flat security key for fitting into a hierarchy of locking systems has both sides of the flat key profiled with longditudinal grooves (7). The flat flanges of the grooves meet at set angles on a half circle centred on the outer surfaces of the key. The half circles have various diameters for each range of keys.
