[origin: EP1452676A1] A simple ratchet grip (15) system for the opening mechanism for a door or window is mounted in the space beside the drive pinion (3) of the mechanism and comprises a single elastic finger with the free end shaped as a ratchet grip. The ratchet engages holes in the drive bar (5, 6) of the mechanism. Some of the holes perform a double function by being engaged by the drive pinion or by a second pinion, for a double sided mechanism.
