Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03051199A1] The invention relates to a system for detecting and monitoring as well as for determining the progression of cerebral function disorders, particularly of hepatic encephalopathy by using a flicker frequency and/or fusion frequency, whereby the system depicts a miniaturized, portable, non-system connected measuring device that can be used directly on site. The illumination optics for providing a stimulating light with background lighting are provided in the form of a pair of headband glasses (5.1). The determination of the corresponding limit frequencies, the generation of stimulating light pulses and of the adaptation light as well as the data acquisition and storage are generated and controlled by a microcontroller provided inside a hand-held control unit (6).
