Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03027456A1] The invention relates to a method for the temperature regulation of an engine, in particular an internal combustion engine (12), whereby the engine is connected to a radiator (16) within a cooling circuit (14), by means of at least one flow line (35) and at least one return line (44). Said radiator can be by-passed by means of a valve-controlled bypass line (48), between the at least one flow line (35) and the at least one return line (44). The cooling circuit (14) furthermore comprises at least one control and/or regulated pump, in particular an electric pump (34) for the circulation of a cooling agent through the connector lines (32), a cooling circuit (14) and a controller (52), which controls and/or regulates the cooling capacity of the cooling circuit (14). According to the invention, at least one temperature of a component in the engine (12) can be determined by means of the cooling agent temperature and the volumetric flow of the cooling agent through the engine (12).
