Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03040833A1] The invention relates to a toner and to a method for producing a plastic toner, especially for electrophotography. The inventive toner is characterized in that as the base material for the toner a powder for powder coating is used that has a grain size distribution of from 1 to 20 mu m, especially 5 to 15 mu m, and that is provided with additional charge control agents and additives on the surface. According to the inventive method, already convected powders for powder coating are used as the base material. In a mixing step, said powders are mixed with charge control agents (CCA) for improving surface charge and optionally in a further mixing step with additives for improving the flow properties, the adhesive power and the agglomeration propensity.
