[origin: WO03050399A1] The invention relates to a method and a device for the aftertreatment of exhaust gases of internal combustion engines, especially for reducing the NOx-part of the exhaust gases. According to the invention, the NOx is reduced in the presence of O2 by means of a reducing agent (K). The invention is characterised in that at least one part of the NOx or NO in the exhaust gas is transformed into NO2 before the reduction of the NOx.
