[origin: WO02082860A2] The invention concerns a method for selectively broadcasting data in a space to people provided with a portable receiver terminal, comprising a wireless broadcast of a flow of digital data from stationary transmission facilities arranged in specific points of said space, said digital data being transmitted over a plurality of channels associated each with different contents. Each transmission facility transmits cyclically in controlled manner in so-called streaming mode a flow of different digital data. Each receiver terminal comprises means for receiving and directly broadcasting the transmitted information in streaming mode. The invention can be used for indirect public address system in museums, exhibitions, special shows, public events, sporting events, for providing directions in sales outlets, public buildings and business headquarters, and for simultaneous translation.
