Process for production of a hollow cylinder (6) in Cu or Cu alloy by winding a band (2, 2a) in Cu or Cu alloy onto a carrier (1) in several layers where in winding the individual layers are joined at least at some points and after winding the carrier is removed. An independent claim is included for a casting roll formed from a Cu or Cu alloy.

Bei dem Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Hohlzylinders (6) aus Kupfer oder einer Kupferlegierung wird ein Band (2) aus Kupfer oder einer Kupferlegierung in mehreren Lagen (3) auf einen Trägerkörper (1) gewickelt. Beim Wickeln werden die einzelnen Lagen (3) mindestens bereichsweise gefügt. Das Fügen erfolgt bevorzugt durch in einen Wickelspalt (4) eingebrachtes Lot (5). Nach dem Wickeln des Hohlzylinders (6) wird der Trägerkörper (1) entfernt und eine Endbearbeitung des Hohlzylinders (6) zur Bildung einer Gießrolle durchgeführt. <IMAGE>
