[origin: EP1457455A1] The cable block, and especially hook block (1), has at least one cable pulley enclosed by a cover cap with inlet and outlet openings, whereby a cover element (8) is fitted in the inlet and outlet opening (7) and has an opening (9) for the load cable (3). The inlet and outlet opening is in slotted form and the cover element is movable in the inlet and outlet opening in the circumferential direction of the cable pulley. The cover element covers the cable opening from the outside, and on the inside fits round the edges of the opening.
